The charity stand at the carnival in Assas on the 26th of March 2011

Solidarite Japon 34 Event

Thanks to the generosity and the solidarity for Japan of the Parents Association of Assas-Guzargues, we were able to hold a charity stand during the village carnival which took place on the 26th of March.

There were 11 members of our association present at the event and we were able to propose the following activities: an Origami atelier, a Syodou (Japanese calligraphy) atelier, a Kimono“essayage” (try-on) corner and the “bazaar”, where we sold home-made Japanese cakes, hand-made tart carriers, Japanese postcards...etc.

We made it clear that all of these activities were carried out entirely for the benefit of grief-stricken Japan. To all who visited to our stands, we issued “Oriduru” (paper crane) and the solidaritéjapon34 flyer containing some information on the catastrophe in Japan.

Being able to do what we could for the victims of the disaster and for all who have been working so hard for them made us feel a little better while we are so far away from our country and we all feel so sorry for not being able to be there to help people.... Also it was great to be able to share our feelings with others.

We express our sincere gratitude to the Parents Association of Assas-Guzargues for having given us this opportunity and having shared our feelings at this difficult moment.

We pray for Japan...
